We have been working on quite a few molds over the last couple of weeks. Some of these molds will result in cast products that we will offer on our website.

Last week we introduced the a head from our first mold. Today, we are offering another head from our second mold.

This head is another 3T head that is used to make 38" - 42" size figures. This head is designed through our studio. It comes with a separate jaw. The specifications are listed below.

Getting a big head

We have introduced another 3T head. This is a larger version of our 2T Mr. Winkle designed by Kenny Croes.

SHOP TIP: Eye Tray Supports

Eye supports

We have found that an easy way to position an eye tray is to place the eye tray on supports.

The photo at the right is a head with eye tray supports. Shown here is an angled plastic part that we cast in our shop. We temporarily place the eye tray in the head and mark where we would like to position the eye tray. Next, glue the support directly under the markings that you made for the tray. It is best to double check the position and angle by temporarily repositioning the eye tray on top of the supports.

There are some advantages to using the support:

1. A cleaner look inside
2. Allows you to place and remove your eye tray throughout construction and painting
3. Provides you a platform to “fine tune” your placement of the eye tray

We do not list the supports for sale on our site. If you are interested in receiving some supports, just include a note with your order and we will gladly include some with your order.

FAQ: When using epoxy clays with cast heads

FAQ of the day.

Question: When using Magic Sculpt, Apoxie Sculpt, Paperclay or Free Form Air do I need to do anything to make it stick to your cast parts?

Answer: Typically you do not have to do anything else when applying epoxy type modeling clays to make it stick to the urethane cast heads. However, some builders like to "scuff" up the area by doing a light sanding or drill small holes in the area of application

Another body... Bigger hole

As mentioned numerous times before, we make custom parts for many customers. We actually enjoy this part of the business. It allows us to work closely with many people and the challenge of designing and building new parts is fun.

Here are some photos of another custom body that we make for one of our customers. This body is slightly different in that the neck hole is much larger. Most bodies have a smaller hole for the neck socket to rest. The larger hole is for the heads where the neck fits into the hole. See the photo.

This body also comes with body padding, legs, arms and painted hands. The limbs have grommets that are used for attaching the limbs to the body.

Improved breasts.

Back by popular demand. We have been receiving numerous emails asking for breast implants. As you may remember, we used to have plastic implants for female figures.

We now have for sale on our website, improved breast implants. What makes them improved? These are foam and can be positioned on the body to give a normal look or pushed together for a more sexy look. 

Each breast is 3" in diameter and work well with our 2T bodies

Plumping up

As you may know, we offer body padding for our 2T and 3T body inserts. These designs make it simple to add body padding to the inserts and they match the color of the arms and legs.  The body pads come with the main body pad and two shoulder pads.

On a recent project, we have been asked to develop a body pad that has a larger stomach portion.  Shown to the right, we developed one that pleases the customer.

We overstuffed the stomach and placed a sew line to help hold in the over-stuffing. This resulted in a larger stomach area.

The sew line also provided a larger breast area, which tends to be prominent in overweight bodies.
